Fractional CFO & COO

Finance and operations, without a permanent hire.

As a fractional CFO and COO we take on the commercial side of your business: processes and team, numbers and planning, cash and costs. A few days a month, remote, as much as your stage needs.

Sound familiar?

  • The team is growing, the processes aren’t.

Who does what? New people ask every time, meetings go round in circles, and a lot ends up with the managing director.

With usClear responsibilities, goals for each team and a fixed rhythm everyone can rely on.

  • Financial planning gets squeezed between other tasks.

Between customer meetings, planning gets postponed. Decisions are made on gut feeling because there is no time to back them up.

With usSomeone keeps an eye on the numbers every week and prepares the decisions.

  • It is too early for a permanent hire.

A head of finance and operations costs six figures a year. Often you only need one a few days a month.

With usYou get the experience of a CFO & COO for a few days a month.

What we take on

Operations

  • Processes and responsibilities

Who does what, by when and with which tool – and what comes next.

    Processes
  • Goals for each team

How each team can tell whether things are going well, and a look at it every week.

  • Building the team

Which roles are missing, how to find the right people and how they get off to a good start.

  • A fixed rhythm

A cadence for alignment and review, so decisions don’t get stuck and improvements keep going.

  • Capacity planning

Who works on what and when, and is the team big enough for what’s coming?

  • Tools

We help decide which software pays off and what you can do without.

    Software & tools
  • KIPeople and AI in the team

Which tasks AI takes on in the team and who checks its results, so both work well together.

The numbers

  • Figures and planning

Monthly numbers, forecast and annual plan – and the decisions that follow from them.

    Metrics & reporting
  • Cash

We keep an eye on the balance for the coming weeks and months, before things get tight.

  • Costs and budget

Where the money goes, where you can save and how much each area can spend.

  • Contracts and suppliers

Terms, durations and notice periods in view before something renews without anyone noticing.

  • Accountant and bookkeeping

We coordinate with your accountant so the figures arrive on time.

How we work

  1. Agree the mandatemonthly, capped

Goal, scope, authority and the hours per month, in writing. So both sides know where they stand.

  2. Understand the situation

We look at figures, processes and contracts and talk to the people who work with them daily. The result is a clear order of play.

  3. Steer with you

On a fixed rhythm: review the numbers, prepare decisions, agree what is next. In between we are available when something comes up.

  4. Hand over when the time comes

If the company grows into a permanent role, we hand over in good order: figures, processes, access and everything we built.

No minimum term, cancel at the end of any month. We bill the hours worked, up to the agreed cap. We don’t charge for short questions in between. If something gets built, such as software or a website, you get a fixed price for it first.

Good to know

The hours cover everything ongoing: steering processes and team, checking figures, planning, and smaller improvements to processes or reports. Bigger undertakings, where a fixed price gives more certainty, become their own project. Software and websites always do.

No. Interim means full-time for a few months, usually when a seat is suddenly empty. We work part-time and over a longer period.

That depends on your stage. After the initial call we suggest a number, and we adjust it if it turns out you need more or less.

Within one working day. We agree fixed appointments so you can rely on them.

We work remotely, which keeps costs down. Where being on site really adds something, such as a bank meeting, we come to you. We tell you the travel costs in advance and bill them as incurred.

They stay with your tax adviser, that is their profession. We coordinate with them so the figures arrive on time: we prepare the documents and follow up.

Yes, at the end of any month, with no minimum term. We don’t want to keep anyone the work isn’t helping.
